Son of Man Series

I have long wanted to depict events in Christ's life in paint, but was not sure how to do it without ending up with an illustration rather than an artwork.
In late 2023 a solution came to mind, and this series is the result. The paintings are intended to be a reasonable representation of the subject matter, but also properly go beyond the subject matter into the realm of art - bringing together various things to achieve balance and life that should characterise all artworks - through imagination and artistic licence, colours, light and shade, masses, lines and texture, background and focal point.
